Amex with no UK credit history

I'm temporarily relocating back to the UK, after 11 years away and want to get a UK credit card with points (after having being spoiled in Aus with Qantas Frequent Flyer points). However, I don't have any recent credit history, and my employer will continue to pay me in Australian Dollars (to my account over there). I get a small amount of rent from UK investment properties.
Will Amex (or anyone else) approve me with this circumstance. I can provide payslips and tax returns to support application, but not sure if they will accept is as overseas.
Any insights welcome!

Do you hold a aussie amex?
If so you can do a account transfer to UK0 -
Apart from Amex, if you have/open an account with HSBC Australia, they can help you open banking/credit facilities with HSBC UK0

You can input your AU amex number in your UK application. Your AU cardmembership history will supersede any UK credit checks and a UK card is then virtually guaranteed, provided you're in good standing with amex AU. The UK card will also have the same 'member since' as your AU card.0
