Problem with dog's anus!

Hi everyone
I recently noticed an unusually bad smell coming from my dog's anus so I had a better look. These are the symptoms:
I took her to the vet who said it is not a problem with her anal glands. She agreed it was swollen so gave me a solution to clean it with twice a day. She also emptied the anal glands and gave her a worming tablet to cover all bases, but said neither of these things are the problem. She believes it is just a mild skin infection.
The problem is that it just seems to be getting worse each day. Of course I will take her back to the vet if the cleaning solution doesn't help after another few days, but was hoping someone on here might be able to give me their opinion?
After having her anal glands emptied, I took her for a walk and she had a bowel movement. It was completely normal. The thing that has worried me is that she hasn't had once since and tat was 48 hours ago (unusual for her, she's quite regular and has bowel movements once a day).
Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!
I recently noticed an unusually bad smell coming from my dog's anus so I had a better look. These are the symptoms:
- Bad smell (hard to describe, but not particularly fishy. It does smell similar to the fluids inside the anal glands though so that was my first thought)
- Discolored - darker than usual. Discolor has spread around the anus and onto the upper of her tail.
- Swollen
- Brown matter when I wipe (maybe stool, hard to tell)
- Also noticed a small lump at the top of the anus that I don't think was there before
- My dog is acting completely normally. Not itching, biting or licking it. She doesn't seem to be in pain or even bothered at all!
- Urination is normal and healthy.

I'd book an appointment with another vet in the practice, as it does sound like an anal gland problem. I only knew one of mine had the problem, when he knocked his bum against the edge of the hearth and left a smear of blood.0
