For 600 I'm sure you could buy a far superior "pre-owned" home with possibly a far less stressful time ahead!0

Thats a lot of money to spend on something you arent in love with.0

We’ve looked around for a while and are comfortable with new builds. For London and surrounding areas our budget doesn’t get you very far unfortunately! I agree house prices around here are insane but nothing we can do about that except get the most we can. !!!129335;!!!127999;!!!8205;!!!9792;!!!65039;0

Why delete the first post? The point of a forum is that they stay there...2024 wins: *must start comping again!*0

Agree. With hazyjo, really unhelpful for anyone else to get any help if in a similar situation. Defeats the purpose of the forum0

In case it helps other people in a similar situation in future who come across this thread, and ensures the replies make sense!Looking for some advice! Husband and I want to buy a new build property. Quite a few developments going up in the area we're looking at. We found a plot that we're interested in BUT it's not as nice as a few others we've seen from competitive developers in the area. The thing is this plot is all complete and apparently has been ready for a year (prob bc so many really nice alternatives available). Although it doesn't tick all the boxes we think may be an opportunity to score a bargain. Listing price is 630 and before we even viewed sales director was willing t knock off 30. (Flooring is already complete in and garden turfed) . How much do you think we should offer? Trying to convince my husband that £540k plus full stamp duty isn't unreasonable offer but he thinks I'm loco. But I say for 600 we could be on a nicer development and house with higher specs. The sales manager didn't seem keen to give away any more ££ but they have to be desperate to sell it right?? Their year end is coming up too so I'm sure they want to get it sold before then. What do you all think?0
