PPI when working a term time contract

I've found a letter from 2003 'welcoming' me to a PPI policy. I don't know why I started paying PPI, the amounts I owed at any time were quite inconsequential, less than £100. It was for ACE catalogues. Judging by the statement numbers I had the account from around 2001. In 2001 I would have met the criteria for PPI - I worked full time etc. but by the time the policy became effective I was working part time - possibly around 20 hours a week for 40 weeks a year but was paid over 52 weeks. That would mean my average hours per week would be less than 16. I am going to claim but wonder if the type of my work contract would have a bearing. I don't have copies of any employment contracts any more. Is this likely to be an issue?

Note that the the PPI will only be adjudged mis-sold based on your circumstances at the time of the sale.

If you changed employment (or hours worked per week) at a later date then you alone were responsible for informing your insurers of any such changes..

Thanks, when the PPI came into effect I was on the short contract. I didn't take it out earlier when I was full time. I have emailed them now with a copy of the letter. Its worth a shot.

Fair enough, but you can expect the Bank to require proof of your employment at the time..
