You have an interesting interpretation of ignoring something. Generally quoting and then replying suggests that you haven't ignored it.

    I ignored the point!

Your reaction is weird, if you felt that I posted non-news then why bother commenting and being rude.

For me it was news, as it was for others.

I expressed an opinion (which others agreed with) that starting a thread to tell people that an account that had never been announced wasn't going to be announced, was rather pointless. You disagreed with my opinion. Fine, I'm a big boy. Move on.

I wrote some news about a RS and expressed MY opinion about being disappointed (which others agreed with).

    YOU could have chosen to:
Ignore the thread because it was non-news
    Or
Ignore the thread because you weren’t interested

Instead you chose to write a catty comment and troll me.

I didn’t read the forum rule about asking your permission before posting or only posting about things which you find relevant / appropriate, can you point me to it big boy?

Is it only big boys who try to bully and intimidate with such discouraging comments? I’m so glad you’re moving on.

I don't consider it to be news that something that wasn't reasonably expected (because the bank had not said that it could be) wasn't going to happen, but if that's the kind of news you like then here's some hot off the press for you: the sky isn't going to fall in tonight. Remember, you heard it here first!

I wasted my time opening and reading your thread, believing that you had something informative or interesting to say, but apparently you didn't. I felt it perfectly reasonable to express my irritation, and it would seem that others shared my sentiment.

    I haven't "troll[ed]" you. I expressed an opinion.

I didn't say that there was a rule.

Please don't refer to me as "big boy". It is most inappropriate for you to use this kind of suggestive language.

It isn't bullying to point out that something isn't news. If you think this is bullying then be thankful that you (clearly) have never actually been the recipient of it.

I think you are being unfair. Granted it is not news that ranks alongside the discovery of penicillin or the dropping of the atomic bomb, but it is nevertheless a useful piece of information to people who were wondering what Ford's plans might be, particularly timely as we are about to enter a new tax year.

If it has saved someone (in this case me) from contacting Ford to ask the same question then it has value, and I thanked Gers accordingly.

Presumably you don't sit in front of your TV shouting at it when News at 10 features a story about something you already know, or are uninterested in, so it is a bit strange that you should react so strongly to Gers useful bit of information.

There are cetainly a great many more threads and posts on this forum that are far more deserving of such a reaction if you feel the urge. :)

I am routinely irritated at non-news stories in the media too. I hold most modern journalism in pretty poor regard for the infantile, uncritical and non-newsworthy nature of most what they report.

I don't pester companies asking them if they are going to release a product that I want them to. If they release a product and I like it then I may buy it, but I don't contact them asking for a product to be released. If you do, then so be it, but I just make my decisions based on what is available, rather than on what I want to be available.

You are entitled to feel that I am being unfair, but I am entitled to feel that the post was not worthy of being made. We'll just have to agree to differ.

Just a reminder.... we are on the Money Saving Expert website here - where people come looking for ways to get the best deal and squeeze the extra pound out.

If you sit waiting for someone to inform you about the best deals you risk losing out, so there are two sayings that spring to mind - "If you don't ask you don't get" and "Snooze, you lose".

Making a single enquiry isn't 'pestering' (although feel free to quote an appropriate dictionary definition if you wish) and Ford will feel far less pestered if one person makes the enquiry and shares it with us than if each person interested in Ford's plans contacted them directly. I don't really see the downside of Gers post.

As of tomorrow morning I need to make a decision - I either start a new Notts ISA like I did last year or I wait for some uncertain period of time until Ford announce their RS ISA plans for 2018/19. If I wait patiently for Ford to make their mind up then I run the risk of missing making a deposit in the Notts ISA in April (possibly May too) and losing the interest earning opportunity on that money. So for me (and I'm assuming others) being proactive and asking Ford if they have any news for us seems very MSE. :)

You called yourself a big boy! I did not mean it in an inappropriate way, did you?

Opening a thread and reading my post may have taken you ten seconds (being generous here) and you think I wasted your time?

    Yes, pure dead brilliant!
