Take the goodwill payment and enjoy the unexpected bonus, Plevin only applies to over 50% and so wouldn't normally trigger a payout
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Hi, has anyone had any experience of a declined PPI claim, the decision of which is still upheld but that in relation to the Plevin rules, the bank/lender has now awarded a 'goodwill' payment, despite the claim being denied and the commission amount less than 50%? Grateful for any feedback!
That is a lucky result.
Plevin only applies to rejected complaints. So, your complaint couldnt have been upheld. But getting money when you are not entitled to some is a bonus.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Hi All,
New to MSE. I lodged a PPI claim through a Which? magazine link. I have since been informed by my bank (NatWest) that they can find no evidence that they have made a charge for PPI for any of the loans I have had with them. Any advice on what my next course of action should be, if any, are open to me?
Many thanks in advance0 -
If you have evidence of your own, provide it to them0

Hi,
Some of the loans are quite old & i am not sure i can find the evidence. What is probably making it even harder is my wife worked for NatWest during the period of the loans but no longer does.0 -

You've asked the bank who confirmed you don't have PPI, you don't have any evidence that you do. What exactly are you trying to achieve here? They won't pay any refund without proof you paid itSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

As i said, i am new to this, so not entirely sure whether or not i have any further recourse with the bank , ie the pelvin ruling0

Plevin only applies to rejected PPI claims, you have not made a complaint yet .
It is possible that you did not have PPI.
If you do not believe the bank, ask them for copies of the evidence they have that show no PPI.0 -
Hi Amersall,
So with the bank saying they can find no evidence of PPI on any of my loans, are they not rejecting my claim? even though they do not mention rejection?
Thanks0 -
They're not rejecting anything. They're saying you didn't have PPI.0
