PIP Eligibility

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help me. Basically I am Irish but moved to the UK last December. Unfortunately I have found myself in a position that due to disability means I am unable to work as originally planned when I moved here. I am waiting to see a spinal surgeon but in the meantime I am obviously needing to apply for benefits. I already receive income related esa. But I am just looking at PIP and I can’t work out the eligibility. It says you need to have lived in the UK for 2 of the past 3 years but if you have lived in a EEA country then there are different rules, but I can’t find anywhere where these rules are. I called the enquiry line but they said to call the new claims number. Who then told me to call the enquiry line!!!
Thanks in advance

Does say it's complicated so could be worth going to your local CAB as suggested.
You do have to have had the condition for 3 months and expect to have it for another 9.0 -
Would you be eligible back in your home country to benefits? Maybe a better option would be to return as you have only been here for just over 3 months0

That’s great thanks!!! Unfortunately condition had been for 3 months and will be around for a long time0

Thanks for the advice, I live here in the UK now for personal reasons but thanks anyway0

As a highly qualified professional psychologist, I have brought skills and experience with me to be used within the NHS. I did not come here to be judged and think your reply is extremely out of order. As for the ‘severely’ disabled remark you made, I can not control what life has thrown at me and I am just doing my best to deal with these things.
Before making derogatory comments in the future, you may wish to think that a person is behind the forum, someone who is going through an extremely hard time if they are even having to ask about PIP!!!0 -
Seems quite a few areas there where habitual residency test fails based on what OP has said.0

Thanks so much for that. It really got to me0

Just an update. Apparently if lived and paid taxes in EEA country and some other things, you might be eligible. So I!!!8217;ve applied today and so I!!!8217;ll see what happens. Thanks so much to everyone who helped0
