Missing NI credit

My NI record shows only 51 contributions for the year 2000/1 although I was on Incapacity Benefit throughout the year. I've only become aware of this since NI records have been available online, and it reduces my state pension by about £4/week. Is there any hope of getting this corrected 18 years later, and how would I go about it?

Do you still have any paperwork for that period? Either way, contact the DWP to confirm they agree with your recollection, and with that confirmation then speak to HMRC.
(You could ask the DWP to speak to HMRC, but best to do it yourself to make sure it's done.)0 -

I wonder whether putting in an SAR would be an easy way to start the process?0 -
I've had this from time to time over the years of being on benefits.
I check my paperwork, then write in, marking the envelope as NI Credits before JCP address.
I do a brief letter, HMRC have said no credit on X date, on X date I was on Y benefit, please sort out.
I then get a letter a few weeks later from HMRC saying the credit has been paid.0 -

How many years full cont. do you have and how many years do you expect to get going forward?
The point being you only need 35 years to get the full unified SRP which increases btw this week to £164.950 -
But under transitional arrangements it's complicated by deductions for contracted out years which can be compensated for by extra years over and above the 35. I'm a couple of years off SPA and my forecast is about £8 short of full flat rate pension. Getting that year sorted would give me about another £4.How many years full cont. do you have and how many years do you expect to get going forward?

You can also "buy back" recent(isn) missing years for around £700 per year.0
