Fridge Freezer problem

Somehow the freezer door on my Zanussi ZRB32212WA fridge freezer was left ajar overnight. The contents were still frozen in the morning, but it was making a noticeable buzzing sound, much louder than normal.

24 hours later and its still making a noise, although it does appear to be working - I suspect the motor may have overheated. Is this likely to be the end of it? Can these things be repaired? It's about 5 years old now and not under guarantee.

I wound try switching off the mains or unplugging it for a couple of hours to give any build up of ice around the sensors chance to melt and it may sort itself out after a re-boot.

    from an amazon review:

I purchased this fridge freezer in July 2013, after my previous Bosch failed whilst I was on holiday (having just stocked it up before going away, ready for our return!). I needed a replacement in a hurry, so I ordered online, confident than Zanussi is a good brand (my Zanussi dishwasher is still going after 15-20 years). Clearly the 'Zanussi' that made this appliance is a very different one to the company that made my dishwasher many years earlier, when the name stood for quality. I didn't get to see this fridge freezer 'in the flesh' before it arrived, so I was disappointed in the 'design' of the freezer drawers, which bow in on all sides, reducing the amount that you can fit in them, compared to a typical straight-sided drawer. A strange choice of aesthetic in a place you will rarely notice it, but having a big impact on storage space. It wasn't long before it also turned out that these plastic drawers were very poorly made and began to break. The plastic shelves in the fridge door are also breaking, and have the same, bizarre 'bowed in' design, making them less spacious in the middle than at the ends.

I came donwstairs this morning wondering what the noise was. Was someone operating a pneumatic drill in my kitchen? No, the Zanussi fridge freezer is the culprit. At two and a half years old (it had a two year warranty!), it is about to fail. For a few weeks now, I've noticed the freezer drawers frosting up (unexpected in a frost-free freezer) and the fridge drawers sticking to the bottom of the fridge, due to ice. I came online to chcek some reviews/advice, and found that I'm not alone with faulty Zanussi fridge freezers and that 'repairs' seem to have a limited life. Given that it's badly designed and all the drawers/plastic parts are breaking, I don't think that a repair would be a good investment. Time to move on and find a better fridge freezer. Zanussi/Electrolux and Bosch are out of the running (both, once quality names), so where do I turn for a 60cm wide replacement now, I wonder?

In case anyone's interested, this was a case of ice buildup affecting the fan inside. Turning it off and leaving it to fully defrost has fixed the problem.
