O/S Daily Wednesday 4th April 2018
This is an !!!8220;over the garden fence!!!8221; type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It!!!8217;s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we!!!8217;re going to do today or what we!!!8217;ve achieved already. Everyone!!!8217;s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn!!!8217;t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don!!!8217;t post large pictures, or clip art !!!8211; links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don!!!8217;t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Morning everyone
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Now light, damp underfoot with loads of laying water, forecast for yet more rain again today.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit.
Dinner last night was LO roast lamb, LO mash, LO cauli/broc cheese, LO yorkshires, carrots, peas and gravy. Tonight we'll be having fish, chips/jacket potato, beans/veg.
Yesterday was as manic as we expected - I truly believe that the monkeys are running the asylum. The busiest time of year for us and we start the day with no money taking facilities, as the machines are being remotely updated and so therefore can't be used, so we have a queue of customers all wanting to pay their bills that we have to turn away - that went down well first thing - not! We were led to believe that the update would be finished ready for our opening time, yeah right! We did get the machines working but not for a while and one of them worked on and off all day, so engineer may need to come out today. We just were generally busy too, glad I'm only working today then on days' off until Monday.
I've overslept this morning too, but luckily DH realised and woke me before he left for work, so have just eaten my brekkie and now going to use the shower, I let DS1 use what he needed to as he needed to be gone for work. I obviously needed the sleep as I slept like a log, I'd love to know how far I walked yesterday as we were so busy. The day does fly by though.
Keep safe and well x

Good morning and thank you for starting the thread nmlc.
I am working today and tomorrow, did some work at home yesterday to get a jump on the week. I'm starting paperwork at home this morning, out to an appointment, back to the office and then another appointment late afternoon so not likely to get back before 8 and could be later. Tomorrow looks similar.
Not raining (so far) but yesterday although we did not get a plague of frogs, we did get a short hailstorm.
This weekend I need to tackle the mould in the bathroom, you wouldn't think I kept the window open to air it but I do. There is a fan too, but it doesn't seem to do much.
Hope everyone has a good dayI was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Good morning, it’s very damp and grey here. Eagerly waiting for some sunshine.
This morning I’ve got a video meeting, thankfully it shouldn’t take long, and want to do some baking for DM. She’s really enjoying the cakes I’ve made so far. This time I have to make it extra-mega-super lemony as she couldn’t taste it much.
I hope everyone is doing well, happy Wednesday.0 -
Morning folks and thanks NMLC. Here's hoping you have a less stressful day today. We have rain this morning but the outside thermometer is showing 10 deg already! Wow tropical or what!
I have got as much stuff as I can out of the kitchen cupboards and drawers now and all in boxes not quite as hidden as was behind the dining table. Still more stuff & junk to bring in but we will be needing it in the kitchen before D-Day arrives. Yesterday I took one look at the wallpaper that needs stripping and felt as if I just couldn't be arrised so that job still awaits. Maybe today - or maybe not.
It's my first Wed of the month old biddies wine and carvery night tonight and looking forward to having a good old moan/natter/gossip/laugh or whatever the night brings.
DD's 45th birthday today. She is now safely installed in the Darlington apartment till Sunday, for DGD's rehearsals but, today, they don't start until 3.00 so, as a birthday treat, she has booked them all in for an early afternoon tea at a nice little restaurant.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need/want of them. I hope tomorrow's discharge is still on the agenda for HOLLY, she must be counting the hours to freedom. Take care all xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Morning all
Damp and raining here again and set in for the day. Off to work for me and its a busy day with 11 clients and only me and three youngsters in, I can see it being a stressful day, also we had such sad news yesterday one of my favourite clients who I was very close to died during the night before, they think it was a massive heart attack, so the next few days will be very subdued especially tomorrow when she would have been due in, she was such a character
Pizza salad and garlic bread for dinner tonight which will empty the fridge a bit. I also need to put a wash on and will have to hang it on the airer.
Right better get on have good days all xx0 -
Good morning everyone :hello:
I've woken up to a very wet and windy day and I am a bit worried as Phoebe went camping for the night last night in a farmer's field with her friends. I hope she isn't too wet and cold, I have kept the washing machine free so she can shove everything in there when she returns.
My friends came to see me yesterday and it was a good visit. I will be going to theirs in a few weeks time plus she is also going to put me in touch with a lady from my old church who would also love to meet up. I am very much looking forward to that as I think a lot of the lady and lost touch when I left the church. Her lovely husband died a couple of years ago and she is a bit lonely now so it would be nice for both of us to catch up.
I have got some mince out to defrost and will be making spag bol for tea but I am cheating and using a jar today although I will add lots of mushrooms and onion as well. I am going out for the first time in a few weeks with my lovely cmht lady so I fancy going to the seaside and popping into a great butchers there and seeing what is on offer. They make the most amazing sausages so they will definitely be on my shopping list. I am a bit nervous about it but I don't want to be going backwards again after working so hard to be able to leave the house.
redruby, sorry to hear about your client, it must have been a big shock. Take care of yourself x
TA, I don't envy you having to sort out your kitchen but it will all be worth it in the end. Good luck with the stripping.
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
TA I could come and strip your wallpaper, it is one of my favourite things, so therapeutic though am at a loss to explain why.
Redruby, how sad for you all.
Fingers crossed for Holly tomorrow.
I have had toast and marmite and when I've had my tea, will get my large arris in the shower. I've just treated tge shower curtain with mould removing spray, just washing it is not enough though that is the next step. The walls and ceiling need to be done, that's a big job. And one I shall have to do in my pjs, my oldest ones, as the stuff bleaches and I accidentally ruined some clothes even being careful.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
AOD you must be a glutton for punishment! Scraper at the ready, standsteps out and wallpaper steamer if needed, door left open for you ................!! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0

Morning All
Snow for us this morning, nothing like we had a few weeks ago but lying just the same, hope it stops soon as I'm off out for a spa day at a very posh place! I'm going with my Headteacher - we were given vouchers by the family when my friend and colleague passed away. We have had the vouchers for months but never had the chance to use them.
Yesterday I did nothing! Went for urgent supplies then sat and watched TV all day and quite enjoyed it.
Sorry to hear about your client RR, such a shock.
Hope to hear news of Holly soon.
Have a good day, take care. XX0 -
Morning all
Grim old day here today when will this thing called spring actually start. My lawn mower man starts again today poor love is going to get drenched but to be fair it never seems to bother him and he wears shorts whatever the weather. Provides a bit of eye candy on a dull day:) Spare bedding wash today but will have to drape over the furniture to get dry.
Lots of work to do today including filing an online security form in which is massive and very intrusive....not relishing that job.
Holly is sounding so positive now and yes counting the hours. She is still wary about the community team visiting her at home every day as they were the ones who had her sectioned. Hopefully they will offer her support this time.
boiled egg and toast for brunch later then ill have a route in the freezer for dinner
RR sorry to hear about your client0
