It's his third birthday on Thursday and I'm thinking of getting him a puzzle of some sort. I was considering a Rubik's Cube. Does anyone have any suggestions for a puzzle based present. Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

My Little boy is coming on 3 and he would have a clue what to do with a Rubiks cube.
For him its all Super Hero's at the moment.
If you're thinking of something to do he and my little girl who is 4 love a game their Granny bought them.which is a treasure hunt game. You place the clues around the house / outside and the clues have pictures so once you find one the next clue will have a picture of say a window so they have to find a window for the next clue. At the end they get some treasure. Its really good as the clues get harder as they get older.
Personally id ask his Mum /Dad what he is currently into rather than going in blind so to speak
Good luck0 -
Jigsaw puzzle, of maybe something he is into.0

I think a Rubik's cube might be a bit beyond him. It's beyond me and I'm 10 times as old.
Ask his parents or find an appropriately aged toy section in a shop.0 -
Take him out for the day, if hes anything like my daughter or nieces and nephews he will already have enough plastic toys to see his great great grand kids kit out his own toy museum.
Zoo/safari
TV performance (bob the builder live, ben10 live, mister maker live etc)
Cinema
Trampolining place
Activity centre (climbing walls for toddlers) or soft play centre
Farm
Eureka (childrens/science museum)
He aint remembering squat at 3 years old but you will, you aint going to remember buying him a rubiks cube unless he happens to become a speed cuber or something. You will remember that time when a monkey peed on him, or he threw up after eating three bags of smarties in the cinema or the bird stole his ice cream.0 -
Rubiks cube - at 3 - Really? Is he called Sheldon?

My five year old daughter has a Rubik's Cube and all she can do with it is mess it up. I, on the other hand, am becoming an expert on solving it

Jigsaws are great for younger children, as long as you get one that he can do - leave the 100+ piece ones in the shop though.
Someone suggested of taking him out somewhere for the day - He'd probably enjoy that more than anything. Children love spending time with others and he's have something to look forward to as well.0 -
My son was three at Christmas and he loves puzzles, we have just brought him 63 piece onesIf you can’t look on the bright side,
I will sit with you in the dark0 -
He's too young for what your suggesting ! He won't be interested.
If you purchase him some imaginext sets he will be delighted.
I have 4 children and this is just my personal opinion
