Apologies if this has been asked before, but can't seem to find it on any of the earlier forums. Can anyone tell me if my yearly Direct Debit for my television licence is classed as an active Direct Debit or not with Santander 123 bank. I have already got one other d/d set up to pay monthly. Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, 'active' just means 'set up but not cancelled or dormant' so an annual DD complies with Santander's requirement....0

Can you see it in the direct debits list? May be under Capita.0

Thank you very much eskbanker and soulsaver. Yes I can see it is in the direct debit list, but I wasn't sure whether they needed to be monthly direct debits or not, as I pay my tv licence annually by d/d.0

If an account requires DDs to pay out, rather than simply 'exist', for interest or Reward payment qualification, the T&Cs will very clearly say so. Santander don't.Yes I can see it is in the direct debit list, but I wasn't sure whether they needed to be monthly direct debits or not, as I pay my tv licence annually by d/d.
To see such example wording check out the interest/Reward payment conditions for BoS Vantage, Club Lloyds, Halifax Reward, and Co-op Everyday Reward.0 -
found this on Santander without much looking.
Household bills don’t include TV licence, maintenance contracts (e.g. boiler repair cover), other insurance contracts, commercial use or commercial mortgages.0 -

That just means that you don't earn cashback for DDs for the likes of TV licence, boiler repair contracts etc. But if you do have such DDs "active" on your 123 current account, they count towards the 2 active DDs required for qualifying to earn interest.0 -

That refers to the cashback, not to the required DDs for operating the account.
Perhaps you should have looked a little harder, rather than being condescending to the OP.0 -
Thank you for your reply Valiant Son.Perhaps No_6 was trying to be helpful? The reason I come to this site is for help on things I am not sure about. I am very grateful to the likes of yourself, and the many others on this forum who have given me very good advice in the past. If I am not sure about about anything I will always ask for help from someone more knowledgeable than myself. Thank you once again to all who replied to this post0
