Use a broker. Don't go applying yourself leaving a trail of mess on your credit file.0

It could be something else rather than the bankruptcy that is the factor. It being on your credit file isn't an issue as it will be on the bankruptcy register after then anyway. Have you got a discharge notice?
My mortgage is with Nationwide, we got a 95% LTV and the missus is an ex-bankrupt, so it probably isn't the bankruptcy without something else being there. A broker is your best bet - do as I did and contact several independent brokers - most will give a free initial consultation. The reason I say several is because you will get a wide range of responses, we had ones who say deal with adverse credit say we needed a specialist mortgage and mainstream lenders were out of the question; others were very cagey saying they may be able to help but would need a fee up front to do some investigating.0 -
Another vote for using a broker. I suspect they would have known that Nationwide would say no.
'Consider' is a completely neutral term. It doesn't in any way imply that a thing will be looked on favourably.0
