Absolutely lovely story :) So many good things have come out of this forum. I met my OH through comping too. I have comped through this forum since 2004. In 2007 I was off work with an injury and the comping forum helped me pass a long day. It was much easier to win then and I was winning several time a week (sometimes several times in a day!). My OH was my postman and we got chatting when he delivered my prizes. We got engaged in 2011 and I won a stay at Gleneagles for our celebration. We are off to Spain in 10 years for a luxury holiday which is also a win. I am so grateful for the MSE forum in many ways.

    I've been misquoted.

I'm sure I never said 'lovely husband' :rotfl::rotfl:

  • I don't remember seeing a competition to win a husband. Surely that's not legal?
The bitter taste of poor quality lingers long after the sweet taste of cheap price has faded away. :wall:

Is Al Mac the poster who had a huge amount of thanks and hardly any posts (because he regularly deleted them) - it made his stats look very unusual.

If so, I wondered what had happened to him, never see him on the Comps Board any more :(

    Very nice story. :)

That gives me an idea. I propose that all single compers invite their future love interests on a date with this message heading:

    E: 14/02 Win a boy/girlfriend (judged effort)

Great story and nice to hear, it's all about the fun of entering, prizes are a bonus. I miss seeing the ITV winners though as I think that is most peoples dream win.
Any holiday would be good and my most enjoyable win was just a two night break to the other side of Scotland, not even all the way, but the hotel were kind enough to upgrade our room to a family and we had a great family weekend with being out and about and using the leisure facilities.
Thanks to all the competition posters.
