New Job inform now or on the 6th new tax year?

Hi,
My husband starts a new job today and I should find out the exact hours he's working by tonight I know the salary. Our earnings for the tax year are on target and will be what we estimated for the tax year.
His new job is a a lot less yearly (10k less) than what he earned this tax year. So for 2018-2019 our joint earnings will be lower. Do I ring tonight and inform them of his new job but I am presuming they won't want next years earnings yet so if I ring today I am guessing I will have to ring again on Friday the 6th with his next year earnings. So am I best just waiting until Friday and ringing then and doing altogether? Or do I have to let them know on the day he starts? It just seems silly if I ring today they will update and probably send out fresh papers and do one off payments like they do when make changes. for me to then ring again 3 days later with his new tax year earnings and again new payments and papers will be sent. Just seems a lot of room for errors to be made.
So my question I suppose is am I best waiting and am I allowed to do it 3 days late notifying them? I'm just eager to notify them but not sure what is best to do with the salary being different and at the end of a tax year.
thanks in advance

You need to advise Tax Credits within a month.
You need employment dates and PAYE reference number for both jobs and an estimate of the 2018/19 year's earnings.0 -
Call them next week and update the changes at the same time. You don't neee to call on the day.0

Thank you Darksparkle and Sheramber for your help I will do that then. Much appreciated.0
