G24 PCN - IAS appeal or not?

So we received a PCN from G24 for overstaying by 7 minutes at a retail park. I read the forum sticky and sent the template letter to their internal 'appeals', going off what people are saying, I can expect this to be rejected.
My question is, do I bother with the IAS appeal stage or not once my initial appeal is rejected? I have previously done a similar thing a few years back and went through the POPLA process successfully, however as G24 are IAS and not POPLA this won't be the case. So when it comes back rejected do I just ignore all those pesky letters!
On another note, if the advice with IAS is to be simply ignore, then why submit the initial appeal to G24, just wandering!

forget the IAS like the sticky thread tells you
the initial appeal is a paper exercise so that if asked about it later in court, you can state that you appealed and it was turned down by G24
so its a paper exercise only
a landowner cancellation is your best option, so complain , as keeper0 -
So we received a PCN from G24 for overstaying by 7 minutes
There is a 10 minute grace at the end so they couldn't have issued a charge for a 7 minute overstay. I'd check the paperwork again to see if a) it is an overstay or b) you got your times wrong. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. 1: Assume you were shopping, so go to the CEO
of the store and question his/her morality in scamming
customers ??
2: G24 are scammers and belong to the UK's biggest
scam ...... the IPC/IAS.
Appeal to get a paper trail but they will reject ...
It is what these scammers do.
3: And who set up this mega scam ????
Well, the infamous and incompetent Gladstones Solicitors
of course :rotfl::rotfl:0 -
When I say 'we' I actually mean the sister in Law, the 7 minute over stay is on top of the 10 minutes grace I. E. 17 minutes, she was in a Harvester or something on the retail park (could have got carried away with the unlimited salad bar... But I doubt it!) Honestly I have done about 4-5 of these for bloody family members and relatives, thaught I was getting through to them about overstaying as none have come my way for a couple of years!
The last one which was parking eye and POPLA went smoothly with template replies and seemed to be be the way forward and I think POPLA were very much 'consumer' oriented, however this is new IAS rubbish seems to be be the whole thing going full circle.
In the old days 10 years ago it was ALWAYS ignore everything with PCN, then it changed and the public became clued up on appealing as opposed to ignoring and had charges canceled via POPLA.
Am I right in thinking that this IAS has effectively been 'created' to give the illusion of an independent appeals body like POPLA, thus making Joe public pay up when IAS reject the appeal, as they most will see an independent rejection as the end of the line?0 -

Yes, you are right to think that, but you of course know different.
When you initial appeal is rejected you just ignore all the debt collector's letters.
Meanwhile, perhaps you should be gathering evidence just in case there is a court case.
Look at this webpage to see how likely a court case might be.0 -
Wow, roughly 300,000 tickets over 3 years, even at £40 each that's 12 million!! I wonder what the appeal/ignore rate is, bet it nowhere near as high as the pay rate, why would they bother legal proceedings with numbers like that!0

Because they are greedy, and enough people panic and pay up. Sending a few threatogrammes makes them easy money. This is a multimillion pound scam.
You should also complain to your MP and Sir Greg Knight MP.
These are some of the comments made by the MPs in Parliament concerning the unregulated parking industry (Feb 2018):

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.
These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.I married my cousin. I had to...I don't have a sister.

And have they accounted for the grace period at the beginning, in order to park and read the signs? When I say 'we' I actually mean the sister in Law, the 7 minute over stay is on top of the 10 minutes grace I. G24 ones are always cancellable by the retailers on site. No IAS appeal. Complaint.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Notrix - in view of your track record helping family over the years with speculative invoices, you need to be aware that your #5 views of POPLA ae no longer valid.
Henry Greenslade departed in 2015, taking any semblance of balance and evidence-based decision-making with him.
Employees of his intelligent calibre also deserted.
POPLA ''assessors'' now vie with IAS in their inability/cupidity/stupidity.
