What to expect for replacing staircase?

Hi,
I'm going to be looking into replacing our steep straight flight of stairs with a single winder to make it less steep.
We live in a 50s (maybe older, but the oldest title reg we can find is 56) mid terrace house so the stairs are really steep and I've slipped down them plenty of times.
Just wondering how much I should be expecting for quotes and what are the logistics of replacing the stairs for example how long it will take?
TIA x

the stairs themselves aren't hugely expensive, it's all the associated work that can add expense, how much structural alteration will be required, any reconfiguring of walls on ground/first floor etcThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. The would be little reconfiguration of the floor as we have 2 flights of stairs that are on the same stack with brick walls on both sides and the ceiling goes up to the roof. If the cost is suitable we'll do both at the same time Most of the work should be taking existing stairs and underneath plastering out and relacing with new ones. Thanks,
J
