Hello all,
firstly, sorry to add to the many laptop threads.
I haven't bought one in over 8 years and am very out of touch with the latest tech & jargon & what to look for.

Can anyone advise and help with my specifics please?

Budget £500-600 (slightly over £600 at a push)
New or Refurb.
SSD up to 256GB
At least 8GB RAM
Screen 14"+
Win 10
Possibly / probably a DVD drive as I will be ditching both my old laptop & PC and don't want to be left without one ... if that's realistic.

I am not a gamer.
I want it mainly for home use with some travel in car only.
I would like to be able to for SKYPE etc and to connect a headset & a graphic tablet whilst doing so.
I may want to use to connect an audio interface and use DAW software too.

I have found 5 possible on Amazon. I'm not limited to Amazon but do have credit there already that I could use.
Besides, I don't know of any other 'reliable & trustworthy outlets for refurb anyway.

These 3 are similar-ish:

Try https://www.dell.co.uk/outlet for refurb Dell machines.

You will get better value than if brand new.

Also there is a further 15% off over easter using DOEASTER15 which expires tomorrow

    Thanks so far.
The Acer is described as a gaming machine ... not sure.
I've looked at Dell Outlet and I can't get anything in budget, even with 15% off.

    Update.

Thanks to all that helped - I've made a decision and ordered from Dell Outlet for sub £500 :)

The offers kept on changing - I guess that people were reserving and releasing as the day progressed.

So I ended up with this ...

    Dell Inspiron 15 - 7570

    Processor: Intel® Core!!!8482; i5-8250U (Quad Core, up to 3.40 GHz, 6MB Cache, 15W)

    Windows 10 Home (64bit)

    8GB (1x8GB) 2400MHz DDR4 Non-ECC

256 GB Solid State Hard Drive

    4GB NVIDIA GeForce 940MX

    Software

    Intel 7265AC + BT4.2 [802.11ac + Bluetooth 4.2, Dual Band 2.4&5GHz, 2x2]

LCD Back Cover : Platinum Silver

    Primary 3-cell 42W/HR Battery

    15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Truelife LED-Backlit Narrow Border Display

    Internal UK/Irish Qwerty Backlit Keyboard
