PS - apologies for the weird errors etc going on, not sure how to stop it as I thought it was an iPhone issue and I'm android!
  • Ah ok, we used to shop at T3sc0 so we had a T3sc0 current account for grocery shopping to double up on clubcard points :), think 4SD4 only has a credit card though. Think T5B current account gives you £5 per month for so many contactless purchases though so worth a look if you're looking for a groceries piggybank account :D

    Happy Friday everyone!

Had the most awful nights sleep so far last night. Random noises at 3am, baby kicking bladder on the regular and when I did get some shut eye it was dreaming about finances!

Have devised a list of "to do" and a bit of a summary to remind myself what I'm doing.

1Need to change the car on my parking permit, but for this I need to provide insurance documents which I don't think the salesguy provided - have emailed to request them. If I don't hear back I'll just sort my own sooner than planned (car deal came with 5 days free insurance to cover us).

2Apply for TSB current account to use for groceries, takeaways and just joint treats like the odd coffee in town etc. Need to work out roughly what we spend and actually budget for this as we never have in the past and tend to just buy stuff till our money runs out.

3Still waiting for the plumber to invoice us for some work done last Monday along with a quote for a new shower installation - until I get that I am really hesitant to buy anything or pay off any debt as I just don't know how much I've got to play with while my Emergency Fund is brand new.

4Lastly will get around £120 back from OH on his pay day (18th) for the air compressor I bought him this month so that'll be useful.

I think this is the first time I've not been in danger of going in my overdraft (yet) and panicking - which then leads to giving up and just using my overdraft to buy what I want anyway :j Hope it continues!
  • Yay for being overdraft free! :D, how long until your payday?

So long :rotfl: I get paid last working day of every month so still 3 weeks to go - but honestly usually after the first week of pay I can see 90% of my money has gone and I just completely give in.

    Not. This. Time!

Also just heard from the car dealer - he forgot to do my insurance. So I won't tell my OH he drove to work uninsured as he will freak, I'll just sort it now!
  • That's not too long away, you can do it :D, I'm a middle of the month payday, so I try and avoid any "woo it's payday emails" from companies trying to get me to spend money :p. Hope you get your insurance sorted :D.

I keep getting those emails! I get tempted, have a look, remember I'm pregnant and close the page :rotfl: Living in maternity jeans and tops - got enough to cover me!

So I've sorted the insurance - only had a month left on the current one so just changed the details with them so we're covered. I'll do some proper quote comparisons next month as I imagine the renewal will be monstrous as they usually are, plus by then I'll have a new extra years NCD.

Decided against TSB for now - just re-jigged my Halifax accounts and set up a standing order for groceries/takeaways. Told OH and he's onboard, so asked him what he'd like to contribute and it's gone all quiet :rotfl:

Now to just continue with my PADing and be mindful of any spending I decide to do!
