Postage to Australia

Options
Not sure if this is the right thread. My daughter is on a gap year in Australia and I wanted to send her a small box of things and may be a couple of dresses. I have looked at DHL for a smallish box that would probably get 12 bags of crisps in! and the cost for postage is about £65!!! Has anyone ever sent anything to Australia and can advise which courier to use?
Just about to give up!

How about Parcel Force. They have been doing parcel deliveries to Australia for decades.;)

I send parcels to my daughter in New Zealand quite often. DHL boxes are highly convenient but very expensive. The cheapest way I've found is to go via Parcel Monkey and select the best deal. It covers all the main couriers and you can track delivery, and it works out a much better deal than DHL (at least half price). You just need a sturdy box and easy to pack items.

My daughter loves receiving parcels from home, so I always send actual presents rather than transfer money. Do bear in mind that there are customs restrictions on quite a few items, such as food products and nail varnish.
