Morning! Apologies for my moaning yesterday, I had a real down day
. So much so, I did an over spend in Tesco because I didn't stick to what I'd poppedin for. I've given myself a talking to, I'm not going to dwell on it, just move on with today.
Roast chicken dinner is on the menu today, I've got everything here for it, so no spends today. I'll also have enough left for tomorrow's main meal too!
Other than that, it's a fairly quiet day, cleaning, etc!
Have a good day everyone!!0 -
Don't apologise for anything you write in your diary - it's YOUR place to offload and it helps to get it out of your system - it's also better than being done for assault and battery on hissy fitting teenagers :rotfl:
Glad you've wiped the page clean and feel a little better. ((hugs))I Believe.....

Thanks Chrystal
Today will be a no spend day so it'll compensate somewhat for yesterday's misdemeanours!!!
A quiet day, doing some cleaning mainly. Oh, and we've filled in the details for student finance Wales... I wish they'd take into account disposable income though as dh does have a relatively well paid job but it doesn't mean we're well off!!!
Right, time to put the chicken in the oven0 -
Does anyone have pet insurance who can help?
Our jack Russell is 4 years old and pet insurance is almost due for renewal. Just after we took out the policy nearly 4 years ago, the dog had an injury which resulted in a broken leg needing surgery. Tesco pet insurance paid out, minus the £75 excess.
Consequently, I've always been of the opinion that moving the policy to another insurer will cause no end of problems as it would be an 'existing condition' as he has pins in his leg. Is this actually the case? Or is it worth looking around?0 -
A quick phone call and the pet insurance has been moved to the bills account
. Policy renewal is 31st May so we'll look to switching at the end of this month! House insurance is also due so we need to investigate that too!
The only bill coming out of that current account now is the sports centre one that the council wouldn't change!!! I can live with that!0 -
I think you'll find that any problems with that particular leg wouldn't be covered by another insurance firm. Worth asking about though, but get anything they say in writing......I Believe.....

Morning! I didn't get on here yesterday, I had a hospital appointment which had me out most of the afternoon, all good though and no need to go back for 9 months unless I feel the need to
I didn't have the best MSE day yesterday though. As I've mentioned in other posts, I do a fair bit of sewing and make a little pocket money from it! I have quite an expensive sewing machine, it cost me £2000 5 years ago. It's been used a lot over Christmas and was starting to sound noisy, so I took it for a service. That cost £79.95 !!!55357;!!!56878;. I used it last night and it's sounding so much better, but it's an expense I could have done without, and should plan for.
In other news, I've set myself a target, whether it's over ambitious, time will tell! I want my next account, which currently stands at £1376, to be paid off by the end of July when I go on holiday. It was just over £2000 at the beginning of January, so on that basis, it does appear to be ambitious, but it's a challenge, and I can but try!!
Also, I've been looking at my bank accounts, and I/we have 2 instant access nationwide accounts that we don't use. I'm therefore thinking of using them as an account for some of my 'pots' for certain expenses. I have a Smile account where sewing money goes, and I try to keep this for holidays and Christmas, so that category is sorted. I'm thinking of using one for household/car and I'm not really sure on the other, so any advice would be welcome!
Nothing planned today really, youngest daughter wants to go to the library to exchange her book, and I'll go to the post office the same time to post a cushion!
Main meal is jacket potato, fish and salad. I've everything here for that so nothing needed there
Have a good day everyone0 -
Do you have an Emergency Fund pot? I'd recommend using an account for one of those.
If so, I'd maybe have a separate account for groceries/takeaways/those random coffees etc. You might already have this organised but I'm finding I spend far more than OH on the weekly shop (read he doesn't spend at all) and then I treat us to takeaways too! So this way we both have a standing order going in and we will be using that card for any joint food/treats0
