I have a Toshiba smart TV. It has some installed apps like Netflix, You tube etc but no Amazon prime video app. I have installed the app on my iPad but can I install it on my TV? If so, how?

Unless the TV has an Android operating system, it's unlikely that you can install any extra apps to it, over and above what it comes with.
Your only hope might be if they provide a firmware update with extra apps included.
This recent post on the Toshiba Support Forum suggests apps can't be installed to Toshiba TVs (although your model might be different?)
