Sims 2 system requirements are:
Recommended System Requirements
1.6 GHz Processor
512MB RAM
Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows 98
5GB (or more) HD Space
Any ATI Radeon 9000 series video card or any NVidia GeForce4 or GeForceFX Video Card.
DirectX 9.0 or better.
I know sims 2 will play on this even though it's just a cheapy.
But it is an old model and out of stock now.
Will sims play on
This??
I don't understand the shared graphics

To be honest I think you will struggle to play this game without lagging problems. It could well be frustrating if the screen gets busy.
Shared graphics uses part of the system RAM as video memory. The laptop has 512Mb as standard, this isn't much for Vista. When video memory takes more of this, it will result in less available for other applications.
You may get acceptable performance if you bring all the resolution/detail settings right down and get a mix between video and system RAM to work.0 -
The Sims 2 requires about twice as much RAM and a much faster processor to run on Vista.
There's a post about it here on (in my opinion) the best sims 2 forum (gives real advice and doesn't waste time with stupid rumours, but the humour is of the kind not to be taken seriously and the easily offended should stay away!)
