Net curtain hook fixing and wooden blinds recommendations

Hi two questions please.
1. Our network curtains are on one of those extendable poles. It keeps falling off every now and then so am looking to put it on a wire. Like this. My question is those small screws, how are they fixed to brick wall? Do I need to drill such a small hole..

2. In couple of rooms I want to put wooden blinds to allow some light through while removing dirty net curtains. any recommendations?

The fixings are normally quite small, so either fix to the window directly if it's a wooden frame or a small wall plug into the plaster. The fixings aren't long enough to get into the brick work because they're only holding some light net curtains.0
