Home Information Packs, (HIPs) will not be fully introduced for all properties until the current property market has been assessed, it was revealed on Tuesday.
Tuesday saw the annual conference of the Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP), at which Ian Wright MP, parliamentary under secretary of state for housing and planning, said HIPs, which are currently compulsory for houses with three bedrooms or more, will not be added to one and two bedroom properties until the market conditions have been established.
Commenting on the Wright’s decision, Mike Ockendon, director general of AHIPP, said: “The Minister’s refusal to indicate the likely timing for full rollout of HIPs to one and two bedroom homes clearly angered many people in the audience.”
Such people are said to include home inspectors, pack providers and domestic energy assessors.
