If you are crowned the ultimate Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2018, you win £10,000 cash and a wardrobe of specs to the value of £1,000. Plus two nights in London to attend the star-studded Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards, a complete style makeover and a fabulous goody bag.

Entry conditions
Open to men and women aged 16 and over
The age group categories are: 16-24; 25-34; 35-45; 45-59; 60+
You must be a resident in the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man
You must be a current glasses wearer
You must be willing to take part in all competition publicity, including a regional photocall in July/August
You must be able to attend the London awards on 24 October 2018
All entries must be completed by midnight on 1 July 2018
Specsavers will donate £1 to Kidscape for every eligible entry

4. How the competition works:

4.1. First round: all entries will be screened and a judging panel will shortlist entrants, based on a number of criteria, including their appearance in glasses, from each region and each age category (16-24; 25-34; 35-44; 45-59; 60+) before 29 July 2018 (the “Shortlisted Entrants”).

4.2. Second round: the Shortlisted Entrants will be invited to attend a Specsavers store for a photocall at a time and date of Specsavers’ choosing (the “Regional Finals”). The judging panel will select one entrant from each age category from the Regional Finals based on a number of criteria, including their general performance at the photocall, before 7 September 2018 (the “Finalists”).

4.3. Social media round: Specsavers shall pick 10 entrants that were not selected from the Regional Finals in accordance with clause 4.3 above, to enter into competition on Specsavers’ Facebook Page (the “Social Media Competition”). The Social Media Competition will run in September 2018. The entrant with the most likes will win the Social Media Competition and go through to the Third round (the “Social Medial Finalist”).

4.4. Third round: the Finalists (along with a finalist from Ireland and the Social Media Finalist) will be invited to attend the Spectacle Wearer of the Year Awards 2018 (the “Awards”) in London on 24 October 2018 and will need to be available that day and the day before the Awards to take part in preparations. At the Awards a final winner from the UK (including the Channel Islands and Isle of Man), Ireland and social media will be chosen by a panel of judges, based on a number of criteria, including having a strong overall marketability, their appearance in glasses and general performance, to be crowned the Spectacle Wearer of the Year 2018 (the “Overall Winner).

Is anyone having trouble with this comp? When I click submit your entry there is no confirmation that it has been successful. The photo disappears but my details on still on the page? Any ideas? Am I doing it wrong?

I didn't get a confirmation on screen either but I'm assuming that my entry has been submitted as there was no error message, I was just reverted back to the original page.

It really annoys me when you don't get immediate, on screen confirmation for a comp as you don't want to try and enter again incase you disqualify yourself with multiple entries, but you don't want to miss out on winning if your entry didn't go through

I received two confirmation emails, one straight away and the the other the next day to say everything was OK with my entry.
