Do slugs equal damp?

I had a major damp problem which was attributed to the patio being built too high therefore rainwater running into the house. After £12k and a new floor and kitchen, I am getting up to find slugs on the floor. Does this mean I still have damp somewhere?
Please say there is another explanation!

Slugs certainly like damp humid conditions. Difficult to imagine how the slugs are getting into the kitchen. I would have thought there would have been other signs of damp. Is it a solid or suspended floor?0

Slugs are everywhere. it does not mean you have damp though0

Slugs will get in if there is an access point. They tend to follow each other tracks, so once one has found his was in, more will follow. Your best bet is to watch where the slugs come from, and then block the hole so that it is airtight. Then you should have no more of the nasty beggars!BCSC Member 70:j

Thanks everyone.
It was a chipboard floor but not sure what it has been replaced with. I have laminate down on top of it.
No idea where they are coming from. I'll pull the dishwasher and washing machine out (although a bit scared of what I might find.... )
I'm really shortsighted and there is nothing worse when you come down in the morning and stand on one of them. they are HUGE!0 -
Sounds like a suspended floor. Would have been useful to have been able to look under the boarding to see if there were signs of water or damp underneath but you won't want to lift the laminate. Good idea as NekoZombie to see if you can see their trails and see where they are coming from.0

Just posted this on another thread , thought it might be useful to you ~
Get an old dish and half fill with cheap beer, the slugs go after the beer get drunk then fall in and drown.
At least when you walk in all the slugs should be in the dish and not on your floor.0 -
If you're not squeamish go into the kitchen at about 3am, chances are they will all be out just mooching around. Then you can round them up and dispose.
They will find their way into what you would consider a sealed room.0 -
I've got a cat flap and the huge slugs come in that way. Eeeeeww they are disgusting!:p0
