Decisions whether to accept or refuse application are not shown at the CRAs, and so neither are credit limit changes. The above facts belong to everybody; the opinions belong to me; the distinction is yours to draw...0

The decision made as to whether you were granted credit will not be recorded, however, the lender -may- search your credit file as part of the process to decide whether to increase your available credit or not, or even decrease it (as can happen.)Nice to save.0

My credit limit increase request with M&S this week was scored, for example, even though they had scored me less than 2 weeks previously when I applied for the card.Ethical moneysaver0

You are wrong, Credit limit changes are recorded. :cool:0 -
No, the change isn't recorded, just the current limit. If you applied for an increase, say, from £1000 to £2000 and it wasn't accepted then nothing would be recorded. If it was accepted then the file would just say £2000 limit, with no indication it had been £1000 before.THE_ROCK84 wrote:You are wrong, Credit limit changes are recorded. :cool:0 -
that's right, your file will not state that the limit has recently been changed if approved, but IF DECLINED it would obviously show as a new search by the company (at least in most cases - First Direct and Lloyds for instance don't necessarily run a new search but make a decision on your own history with them)0
