Vonage are increasing their prices effective from 01 May 2018 and customers have the right to cancel without penalty if they cancel by 30 April 2018:

However the situation regarding pro rata reimbursement to Vonage of the cost of free equipment for new customers who have accepted the free Vonage box offer but not completed the minimum term is not clear.

I've just received the Vonage price increase email.
    Up from £8.50 to £9.25/month.
That's about 9% - roughly three times the rate of inflation.
I wonder how they can justify that?

Personally I've never been happy with the noise / interference I get when receiving VOIP calls using Vonage.
Maybe it's time to look for another VOIP provider?

Compare Vonage with landline rental plus the typical additional £8.00p per month for unlimited UK calls and Vonage has the edge and a pretty big edge at that. But probably a waste of time to have both a landline and Vonage unless an extra line is needed.

Personally I don't have a problem with the quality of calls on my Vonage line. I'm on 50 mb/sec fibre bb which probably makes a difference.

I ditched my copper landline when I switched to FTTP (Plusnet)
I still get the noise issue even with high speed fibre.
    I think I'm on 35Mb/s download speed.
That is far more than adequate for a voice call.

I'm pretty sure the noise problem is not down to my BT Stratus DECT phone, since that was fine when it was connected directly to the old copper landline.

I suspect the problem is the Vonage VOIP box that connects between the Plusnet router and the DECT phone.

Has anyone had any luck haggling these increases?

Vonage was a no brainier - was with Virgin broadband also paying £18 line rental plus £9 anytime calls. So to pay £8.50 yo Vonage and just standalone broadband with virgin makes much more sense.

Whilst still very cheap the increase is sharp relative to the cost.
