I've not had any experience with Howdens flooring but I do have the flooring from B&Q, only difference is mine is the New England rattan than Kolberg, so the boards themselves are the same just a slightly different shade on the finish.

It is very thick, solid, and incredibly good quality for the price once it is laid properly, we are very happy with the end result and it looks lovely. The big problem with it is that it is incredibly difficult to lay. We laid it ourselves and while we are not experts, we have laid numerous floors over the years in our homes and helping out friends and family and we have never had as much trouble as laying this flooring. It is usually recommended to allow 10% extra for wastage, with this stuff I'd say at least 20% for wastage because boards will get damaged when it is laid.

Another user here bought it and obviously ballsed it up while laying it, which would be easily done. They had a whole thread and Facebook smear campaign set up because of it, they didn't name the exact product but they had photos on the Facebook page they created so I knew it was the same although the page has now gone so you can't view it. https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/5621153

5mm thicker is a huge difference in the world of laminate flooring and usually be much more expensive.

It's not usual to compare laminates with such a difference because the quality is usually far better. I haven't clicked the links but the thicker the better is the usual norm.
