Help to buy developer accepted two offers

Me and my partner put a higher offer in on a help to buy property that already had an offer in and as far as we know the other offer did not have their reservation paperwork in before our offer was accepted. We submitted our paperwork and our memorandum of sale is being sent to us. Our estate agent spoke to the developer this morning and said everything was fine with our paper work etc so the property was ours. Since then the estate agents have called us stating that the other offer has also handed their reservation paperwork in before ours was submitted but its not clear if this was before or after our offer was accepted. As far as im aware this would have been submitted after our offer was accepted. The developer has admitted he has made a mistake and will be seeking advice before anything can go further. Me and partner now are stressed out and not sure where we stand any help or advice would be very helpful

If the other offer had not been accepted and if they were bidding against each other I wouldn't class that as gazumping. That said it's not 100% clear if that was the case.

we weren't aware at the time that another offer had been put in or accepted we only found out after our offer was accepted what we had gazumped them as the development was on with two estate agents and clearly there had been no communication with the two

Only advice I can offer is be patient, wait and see. Please don't start posting about compensation though, so many people post looking for that
