HB reinstated

Housing benefit which had been denied to all 18-21 year olds has been reinstated in a govt. U turn today.
A move that I'm sure will be welcomed by those who work in benefits advice and by those under 22 previously denied HB.

Most likely this U-turn is a vain attempt by the current government to get young people to vote for them, hopefully they won't be fooled by such little.

    This government needs kicking out.

We're coming up to local elections. The Tories are doing their best to make themselves look like the kind and caring Party, and smear the opposition.

Shame that some people will fall for it.

I seem to remember that at the last election Labour touted the students at universities to register twice to vote (one for the home address and the second at Uni) Added to this good old Corbyn suggested that if he became PM he would write off all student debts. Guess what the 18 - 21 brigade voted for him!

The current government are only trying the same tactic.
No one is really that interested in the young except when it comes to casting their votes.

At one time it used to be the 'grey vote' that the political parties tried to capture. They have now found that that sector are fed up to the back teeth with both Labour and Conservative and don't now vote in the numbers that they used to.

They don't need to smear Labour, Corbyn is doing it quite nicely himself!

Gone have the days when anyone under 21 did not have the legal right to enter into a rental agreement - they lived at home.
They tended to move out in their early/late 20's when they became married.
  • Although I mentioned that this was a govt U turn I did so as fact and wouldn't like to see this thread delve into political arguments, thats not what this forum is for.
    Thank you.
