i have an account with barclays with a £900 overdraft, recently i went over the 900 limit and i was getting charged £25 for every transaction (up to 3 transactions) and £35 for bounced direct debits, 1 direct debit was for a barclays loan they tried taking it 3 times and charging me £105 for the priviledge is that fair considering they would know full well the funds were not there to take?
also orange took 2 payments off me for my phone bill causing me to go over my overdraft, they said quickest way to get it back would be through barclays so i phoned them, they cancellend the direct debit as that was apparently the only way to do it, so i get the refund get home from work tonight check my account online to find they took £35 commission for doing that! i am extremely p'd off with barclays i have paid them this month alone £215 in charges and dont see how they expect me to get out of the situation i am in!!
any advice would be greatly appreciated!

We wouldnt charge £35 for cancelling a DDR you had told us to cancel. To claim the money back you needed to get a DDR indemnity form completed by a member of staff. Dont need to cancel the DDR though to do that.
Are you saying the Orange DDR's are what caused the excess in the first place, or did you just overspend?0 -
orange taking the 2nd payment took me overdrawn, when i was on the phone to the barclays customer service person she said the only way she could do it was to cancel the direct debit, i didnt ask her to, also the £35 wasnt a charge for cancelling it, its on my online statement as "commission"0
