  • As a long time user of EMaC service plans with Evans Halshaw and Motorstore, there are several benefits of their plans that some may not be aware of.

    1. The Evans Halshaw Service plans, for example, usually include an option to have your vehicle serviced at any Evans Halshaw branch. Ask your dealer or refer to the paperwork/email documents for details.

    2. I once nearly had to cancel a plan that would have meant being subject to a £30.00 cancellation fee. The reason being, I had bought a car privately from a friend and didn't know I could transfer the plan to the newly acquired car. The dealer set up a new plan according to the details of the new car (used). So long as I took the car for servicing at EH branches I was good to go.

    3. You have to be careful when getting quotes on your vehicle. As already mentioned, some cars have 3,5,7 and even lifetime warranties. It's essential when setting up your plan that you ensure you're getting a service plan that uses the genuine parts for your vehicle. All plans for warranty vehicles afaik feature brand named parts for your vehicle i.e Toyota parts for Toyota cars/transit, Ford parts for Ford cars/transits, Land Rover for Land Rover vehicles etc.

    4. In 2012 I had a 2004 plate Focus for two years. Due to the age of the car and my intention only to keep it for a short time, I decided to get a shorter plan. Because the car was well out of warranty I got a good deal by buying something, I think, was called a Service Pack or Bundle or something like that.

This plan was much cheaper because the services were both intermediate and not major. However, the plan still included all the necessary checks and basic replacements. If I remember right,
the parts that needed replacing were all manufacturer approved too.

Luckily enough, I don't think I've had a bad experience with my dealerships or EMaC to date. Okay, there's the odd time when I've needed to call and I've been waiting for ten minutes to speak to someone but they've been helpful when I've got through.

These plans have been a good thing for me and save me the anguish of service shopping and paying a large bill on the day.
  • Just looked at my service plan again and it also has the first MOT included in the 3 year service plan on a Renault Zoe.

I had an EMaC service plan with Evans Halshaw on a Focus which also included full AA cover, do they still include it? I thought it was great value
