Thank you very much for your help, feeling a lot better about this now. If anything does come of it I will keep the thread noted.0

You do need to respond once to the Trace letter to confirm that is your correct address for service, if PCM also have your old address. You must confirm which address is correct so you don't get a default CCJ by stealth at the old address unbeknown to you (happens all the time with parking firms, and we've seen it reported that Gladstones - who do claims for PCM, among others - deliberately revert to an older address for court papers).
Anyway this isn't your thread, so no more discussion here!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi All,
Sorry to bring up an old thread, but I'm really worried again.
Received a letter today from 'Trace Legal Department'.
I'm not sure if this is the LBC as it seems as though it's from the PPC's lawyer's on their behalf right?
"As all other attempts have failed to recover the charge, our client has now instructed us to assess and prepare your case to take potential legal action against you in the County Court. To prevent such action, you must pay the full amount outstanding within 14 days of the date of this letter.
.........
We would of course prefer to resolve this matter without the need to instruct lawyers, but you must settle this matter now."
If anyone could clarify if this is the Letter Before Claim or not, then it'd be much appreciated as it would put my mind at ease.
Thanks,
Larry0 -
Please re-read post #5 - especially the second sentence.
Here it is again:As debt collectors are neither the claimant or the claimant's legal representative, they cannot issue a LBC.
I'll say it once more - Trace cannot issue a Letter Before Claim.0 -

The 14 day thing tells you it is not. Look at the pre-action protocol for debt claims. If anyone could clarify if this is the Letter Before Claim or not,PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hello,
Has there been any further communication made by these debt collectors?
Did you continue to ignore.
Thanks

Hi all
I made the stupid mistake of calling trace because I was unaware of the content on these forums (silly me) now they are saying they want my debt payed in full. Shall I just ignore it even though I contacted them?0
