R9 or R7 Heritage windows (or equivalent)

hi there I have been looking round for ages trying to find some UPVC windows that don't look too bulky and "stuck on" and think the above may fit the bill.
however I was wondering what would be the best way to source the cheapest/best value method of purchasing them as they seem to be stocked by lots of different companies.
Plus we need transom windows to replace out current single glazed ones and I can't find these described on any stockists' websites.
If this is the case, does anyone have ay recommendations of something similar who would do this style of window? thanks

Don't most double glazing companies do this sort of thing nowadays? Visit some showrooms.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

The double glazing industry works on the basis of supply and fit. This gives them two bites of profit, this being on the materials and on the labour. However 99.9% of consumers are happy with this because they cannot be bothered with specifying, sourcing and fitting. Which means OP melb is swimming against the tide.
Sourcing is possible, but you may need to open a trade account, or seek contact with a trade supplier/wholesaler.
Fitting then becomes an issue - either Building Regulations has to be sought, or a self certification fitter used (eg FENSA). However self certification fitters are unlikely to want to be fitting a consumers self purchased windows.
OP wants "the cheapest/best value method" but for most folks this is not possible. There is no alternative to supply and fit here, so go to your local window companies and do the Specification, sourcing and managing of the task.0 -
I haven't seen it so far in showrooms i have visited but will persevere.0

What you require is out of the norm, certainly with your fitting ideas. So you have to be more proactive. It is not a matter of looking in showrooms because these will cater for the mass market. You have to have a manufacturer/range in mind then say "this is what I want".
You then search around for this. For example there is a local trade outlet around 3 miles from me - tucked away so consumers probably do not know it exists. Here one can get anything - one simply draws up a Specification and says to them "get me that". Then "what will it cost?"0 -
Whereabouts are you melb? Around here they seem pretty "mainstream" now. Double glazing companies are always bringing out something new to attract customers, first metal then plastic, then colours, then argon filled, then triple glazing, now "heritage". I wonder what will be next.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

sorry for late reply. I am in Leeds. I have just visited a factory this morning which manufacture these and they look just the job. They told me they also own two local window supply and fit companies where we will be able to visit a showroom. and they will come out and do a survey and then quote and supply and fit if required.
I am sure it would be cheaper if we could find a local recommended fitter and get him to buy direct from the factory rather than ordering via their showrooms.
But I do not know anyone who has had these fitted and maybe the costs would be similar either way.0
