Letter before claim from Vehicle Control Services

Hi, very sorry in advance if this is answered in the threads - I did not spot it. I have a “letter before claim” from then litigation department at vehicle control services ltd (note not VC solutions) regarding a Charge Notice. As far as I can see this company is not a member of the BPA but they are writing to me and I didn’t get a windscreen notice. I was on camera in one of their parking areas for 5 mins max (went the wrong way). I was in a company car I no longer have. Perhaps foolishly I have ignored the letter to date. Please could you point me in the right direction for advice with my particular situation? Thanks

NEWBIES FAQ sticky, post #2 deals with the entire court process, from LBC to the court hearing. Please use that as your guide.
There are two ATAs - the BPA (of which VCS are not a member - as you rightly point out), and the IPC (of which VCS are a member).
It makes little odds which ATA they subscribe to at this stage of your case. Once you're at LBC stage, the action is the same.
How did your complaint to the landowner go? Did they offer to get your ticket cancelled? Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Have you read the ATA Code of Practice WRT grace periods?
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -
Thanks very much. Umkomaas, I couldn!!!8217;t see where to find the list of IPC members so thanks very much for that.
I will take the action as described in the NEWBIES thread.
I haven!!!8217;t made a complaint to the landowner. In fact I have done nothing until this. I know - silly. Hoping to rectify. Do you think this may cause an issue? Thanks again!0 -

It's never too late to complain to the landowner about the conduct of their pet ex-clampers they've allowed to maraud on site.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
