New Year short break ideas?

Hi everyone,
I'm sure this kind of question has been asked before, but we were after something a bit different. We'd like a few days away - leaving sometime after 28th Dec returning on 3rd or 4th Jan.
Obviously everywhere will be busy at New Year to some degree, but if possible we'd prefer somewhere a bit different, somewhere that isn't tacky and overly touristy. Ideally somewhere snowy would be nice, but doesn't have to be.
To give you an idea of what we like, we visited Krakow in Feb this year and loved it. We considered Prague for New Year as it is supposed to be similar, but then read about lots of stag parties which put us off. Nothing against a good night out and plenty of good bars/restaurants, but we don't want stag central!
Any suggestions, as we are currently at a blank and Google searches haven't thrown anything particular up.
Thanks.

My dream would be to rent a room at the Hotel Wentzl on Krakow's Main Square for New Years Eve. It's expensive but the view alone is worth it. I spent a night there in 2006 and I was looking through the window constantly admiring the view.
Zakopane in the south is an understated ski resort (it was snowing there yesterday actually). I can't pretend it isn't touristy because it DOES attract tourists but it's not done in a tacky way. They tend to sell folk art and sheepskin slippers etc etc.No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
I've been to Prague 5 times in the last 6 or 7 years and have never found stag parties to be a problem. It is fantastic at New Year, loads of people in the streets and squares setting off fireworks and drinking hot wine. Loads of good late bars, clubs and restaurants too. This space has been intentionally left blank0

My brother's girlfriend is from near Krakow and they went to Zakopane last winter. He was absolutely raving about it for ages after! Thanks for all the replies - agree with you all but as I said, we went there in February so not looking to go back just yet. We did visit Zakopane as well as Krakow and loved both - will definitely go back some day.
I think we may have found a possible destination - Tromso in Norway. From what I can gather it's a vibrant city with lots to see and do, yet also right next to wilderness forests and lovely countryside, and it will be very snowy there in Dec/Jan.
Just trying to read up on it now - don't suppose anyone has been?0
