PCN has my number plate wrong

I got a windscreen PCN today from a parking company that is on the BPA list. However from closer inspection I can see that they have issued it with one digit of my number plate wrong.

Should I still follow the process as outlined in the Newbies thread or should I ignore it completely? They have put the make of my car and the colour down so I’m wondering if DVLA would still be able to give them my info or not?

Thanks for any advice.

wait for an NTK, it is thought that they use mistakes to provoke people to contact them and give away the drivers details, its a common ploy and been seen before hundreds of times

so if in any doubt , await the NTK, which is what I would do

Hmmmm...my suggestion for this is to post a letter of appeal on day 21, snail mail.

Use the usual template, and get proof of posting from the PO (free, a certificate of posting). Because you won't be able to appeal online.

Or, appeal on day 26 as per usual, online, but put in the RIGHT VRN in order to get through the system but that might not work, hence my suggestion, for once, is to appeal as keeper, by post. Nothing about the story of what happened, and remove the end of the line that says 'if you are an IPC firm' (obviously that's removable).

Or, wait for the NTK. But we know they will adjust the data and send one anyway so the 2 suggestions above avoid that. I bet it was UKPC?!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
