Free office software

Options
If you want a FREE suite of office software, then you might want to check out http://www.openoffice.org/. I think in some ways it's better than Microsoft Office (can read/write to microsoft formats) and I use it all the time :-)

I guess this might have been posted on here b4 but i thought i'd put it on here just in case.

Another great free program is HTML-Kit, you can get this at https://www.chami.com/html-kit/. It's a great html editor with LOADS of free plugins :-)

hope these are of help to ppl

HTML-Kit is a fantastic piece of software...... I'll stick with MSO for major applications, mainly due to the fact im too lazy to learn OO

Open Office is very useful if kids need to do work at home and College only use M.S.Office etc. Open also saves to PDF which can be useful.

    See also Abiword:
    http://www.abisource.com/

AbiWord is a free word processing program similar to Microsoft® Word. It is suitable for typing papers, letters, reports, memos, and so forth.

And for Web Authoring, see also Nvu:
    http://www.nvu.com/

A complete Web Authoring System for Linux Desktop users as well as Microsoft Windows users to rival programs like FrontPage and Dreamweaver.

Nvu (pronounced N-view, for a "new view") makes managing a web site a snap. Now anyone can create web pages and manage a website with no technical expertise or knowledge of HTML.

Aye Fran, but there's nothing I can do about that. At least you've got it here now! So you can point it out to those that ask. ;D

There is also EasyOffice, an MS Office clone, which also boasts an email client, which Openoffice doesn't have.
