Problem with a Pedigree Kitty!

It's delcawing that most vets will refuse to do as it's considered cruel - cutting the claws is fine. Although my cat won;t let anyone do it! lucky she goes outside so she wears them down (personally I think it's cruel to keep them indoors). DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

The only reason we keep them indoors is because they're very valuable and worth a lot of money. I understand your opinion but we live in quite a nasty area and I honestly believe they'll either be stolen or extremely ill treated if some of the sorts in this area got hold of them. I don't much fancy going outside looking for them and finding them strung up from a pole by their necks, that did happen not long ago to 4 cats in this area. They're very happy and we have a large house with loads of toys and they go out in the back garden with us but only under our supervision.0

We have Burmese and we have bred in the past etc. We normally cut the tips of their claws and this seems to save the carpets a bit. Our cats have a courtyyard and often just sit on the wall. Myself I feel it is so unfair a cat being kept in doors. However can understand your reasons for doing it.0

I understand your reasons totally I used to keep my cat indoors when I lived in the nordic region as it was so cold at nights and I lived in a 3rd story flat but he did go out on his harness with me, when I moved here I started to let him out but he by his own choice doesn't leave the garden and by my choice is in when its dark (about 9 in the summer and 4 in the winter) but he doesn't go out much in the winter (his choice) and will want to come in within 5 mins of going out in the mornings, in the summer he enjoys going out.

Our vets will clip claws - they won't declaw though. I wouldn't consider it as it's quite traumatic and can cause balance probs. They only charge something like £7 to clip though.
I totally understand keeping them in - we live in a flat at the moment but even if it was a house ours wouldn't be getting out around here. We have a moggie and a Maine coon, and there have been way too many cats hurt by little s**ts! I think it's fine as long as they have enough to entertain them ( and preferably a companion)0 -

You're right! It's quite surreal, isn't it?
I did think earlier of asking a mod to move it to Forums > Home, Work & Play > MoneySaving in Marriages, Relationships & Families » Pets & Pet Care
How do you get in touch with a mod?0
