Hi
We moved out of our old place at the start of june this year, we were given back our deposit the following day as we had caused no damage and she had inspected the flat and was perfectly happy with the place and the flat was immaculate, in fact so much so the new tenants that moved in the following day didnt have to clean anything (but that neither here nor there). Approx 2 days after we got the deposit back from the LL she called me to say that apprantly there were a few tiles on the floor in the kitchen that were cracked (now I know there wasnt as I was on my hands and knees on moving day cleaning that floor) and that she wanted us to pay the bill to get it fixed. She then calls back a few days later stating the job should cost no more than a £100, I was still protesting saying we didnt make crack and she was saying that the new tenants couldnt of done it as they didnt have access to the flat until a day after but we saw them there on the afternoon of the day we left and there was no way they could of done it. Anyway she got the work done and said the bill was £160 and she would pay half of it to "help" us out. Now we have just had a new baby and already have 2 boys and the reason we moved was lack of affordability so we are not the wealthyest of familys and every penny we get is accounted for and before we get slated, I work but am on maternity leave, hubby doesnt work as is a househubby but claims no benefits and we dont go out or smoke, we just ensure our children have a secure home, so we have not been able to pay the money back and now she is hassling me with texts, I have no credit to reply with or to call her with and cant see why we should pay it when a) we didnt do it as I cleaned it on the morning we left and am not blind. b) the floor was less than a year old so should not have cracks in c) we were given our deposit back before this crack was spotted even though she inspected the flat prior to returning my deposit. I think she is hassling us as she is now selling the flat.
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks

Indeed - she's given you your deposit back, she has not a leg to stand on. She should have been more careful the first time round. Nor can she prove you did it.0

Thanks guys, thats what I thought but needed it confirming.
So am I ok to ignore the texts (not that I can reply)?
SO we dont have to pay her a penny, I couldnt understand why we should anyway as we never did the damage, she kinda bullied me on the phone and me being heavily pregnant at the time just let her. She doesnt know where we live but she is quite a itimadaing person as is her husband and I already feel like I am walking round looking over my shoulder. Might be slightly paranoid due to post pregnancy hormones.
Thanks for all your advice.Wins This Year - 2/1 Dog coat.

i would text " we returned your keys, you have returned our deposit - legally that is the end of the tenancy. if you think differently you are perfectly entitled to take us to court." - she wont.0

Thanks but believe me she would take us to court as that is the sort of people they are.
When we first got the flat she told us about the previous tenants who paid her a months rent in advance and a month rent as deposit and then they did a runner and she was well chuffed as she was £750 up.
