Bleeding oil boiler after running dry

Hi everyone, in the interests of money saving can you help me figure out how to bleed my boiler? It ran dry after using a very unexpected amount over the last 7 weeks since our last 500 litre delivery.

Hopefully you can see these images:

I can also link one of the inside of the boiler unit (which is inside our kitchen, it's old).

Thanks in advance for your help!!

I finally found the reset button hidden under a galvanised cover so I am hoping that will sort it! Waiting for it to come up to pressure now :) Hope it works!!

You will get more help if you state the make/model of your boiler because there is nothing obvious in any of your pictures.

I think that you will need to remove the aluminium cover bottom right in this picture:

where you should find a bleed nipple on the oil pump to allow the air out. The pump cannot work with air in the system.

You will need a suitable spanner or maybe an Allen key to allow the air out and then press the lockout reset button.

Thanks thorganby, you were right, that's where the reset button was, I couldn't find it and didn't know this cover came off easily.. I have pressed the reset button without bleeding it to see what happens. The hot water is coming on so I am hoping that will mean the heating will come on too. If not I will try bleeding it from this area too! Thanks
