30 hours funding and NHS Widening Access

Hi,
I am a student nurse seconded by the NHS trust under the Widening Access Scheme. I am employed by the NHS and paying into a pension each month, however my earnings are exempt from tax.
Am I still able to claim the 30 hours funding for my 3year old child?
Have spoken with numerous advisers at HMRC chidcare helpline and they don't appear to have any answers?!
Appreciate any advice, thanks.

why don't you just apply and see what their decision is?

Thank you.
I have already applied, the system is terrible and i have already wasted hours (literally) on the phone with no answers. I'm wondering whether its worth carrying on (which it is if I am found to be eligible) or giving it up before I waste more time!
I was hoping I might get experience from anyone else who has been through the process? Although I recognise it is a relatively rare situation to be in so maybe nobody knows? Including HMRC?!0 -
As I understand it (correct me if |I'm wrong) you are employed by the NHS but are attending a course through the Widening access scheme where you continued to be employed by the NHS but may receive a lower salary which is tax free). Phew!
Logic tells me that if your earnings meet the minimum level for the 30 hrs then you should be eligible. Is this the case?
All I can think of is contacting where you are doing the course and ask the welfare department (or whatever they are called) if they know. Surely they must have had previous experience of this?0
