Hi,
I am in the middle of starting a new very small business. I would really value some friendly advice.
My little business will mostly be online and local as selling my crafts. I have a very good book to help me account for all incomings and outgoings on a weekly basis. My question is, does anyone have an easy method of working out premise costs? I will be working from home so I will need to work out how much electricity I use and so on..My husband currently covers this and I would value some help on how to work out these costings.
I would appreciate any advice relating to this..
Also - I wrote to the HMRC in the middle of september to notify them of my new business as a sole trader, but I haven't heard anything back yet...do they take a while to get back to you? jus hoping it hasn't got lost in the post.
Thank you :0)

From talking to my accountant I believe you can only put in the additional cost your business occurs running from home. As this is notoriously hard, HRMC does accept a flat cost of GBP 2/week.0
