Well done LL for budgeting for the leaving do. I need to remember to write these dates in my diary for next year so I can budget for them.

Popped into Tesco to buy one of the 4 presents I need to get for the kids parties coming up. Could not find anything decent for £5 but I bought a new foot pump for camping in the summer as our old one split last year. It was on one of those end aisles and was on offer for £3.30. Impulse buy. Not budgeted for.
Could that be the most boring post ever? I could do with a hobby (if I could afford one!) ....

Does OH know you're trying to pay you debt off? If so I'd ask him to 'treat' me to London. No good saving pennies to try and get straight only to have to spend ££££s on a day out that you don't really want.

Have you got a 'Works' near you? If not they sell online. Brilliant for kids presents at cheap prices and if you have a small stash you won't have to go looking for something every time. :)

You need to think about having a savings 'pot' in a bank account for different things... birthdays, Christmas, etc. It will make it easier to you to see what you can and can't afford to spend on.

Don't be disheartened - Rome wasn't built in a day and neither were your debts,.
Stay positive and you'll get where you want to be. X

There is a Works near me - thanks for the tip! I will go and have a look. Or look online and order a couple of things as you said.

You are right about how I need a savings fund for presents. I think I also need to remember to feel grateful - a party invitation is a lovely thing and I should not become completely obsessed with the cost.

I have hit a bit of a slump and feel like I am not doing anything about my debt. Will list items to sell at the weekend.

I am waiting to hear about a PPI complaint. They said I would hear before 30th May so I am waiting not so patiently. I am trying to prepare myself that it might be rejected whilst daydreaming it is a cheque for £5000....

My husband talked about London again tonight. He said the weather is going to be lovely on Monday. I said surely it would be a perfect day for the beach. I feel I have to pay my share. I will probably say we could go on the next Bank Holiday weekend because then I could budget for it. He knows I am trying to pay off my debts but he does not know how much they are.

    Have a lovely weekend everyone.

I have come home to a cheque for £821.82 for a PPI claim!

I cannot begin to describe my elation!

I will put £220 towards my car service and I will pay £600 off my Barclaycard as that has the highest APR.

I will be able to take out a cheaper car finance plan which will save me money each month.

    I am so relieved.

    Have a lovely weekend.
