Good idea, but just the slight problem of tax, insurance and an MOT if it's on public roads.
If it's an allocated space then by definition it isn't a public road (once you've managed to transport it there, of course!).
  • Get a cheap moped, it doesn't have to work. Park it at the back of your space and park your car in front of it. When you go out, pull forward, get out and move the moped to the centre of your space, get back in your car and go out.

What stops anyone moving the moped and parking there?

just superglue a polite note onto the offending vehicle explaining their mistake, I'm sure this will work :)
An answer isn't spam just because you don't like it......

That's just rude, but does make you escalate to Plan B with immediate effect: 24/7 camera monitoring and remote control gatling gun :)

Part of the problem of people parking in a spot is having to deal with the fact they're just annoyingly endowed with an over-large sense of entitlement because it's not parked in. To move any vehicle in a numbered/marked bay is simply "beyond cheeky", hence Plan B being immediately called into play. It removes ALL doubt about intention and motivation, which is the barrier to discussion/argument with the t0sserz doing it.

    maybe numbered bays would help
So currently are there just parking bays without numbers or signs? Highly likely that people are unaware the bays are allocated to certain properties. Explain this to the HA and ask them to rectify it.

It sounds like at the moment, it's easy to park there, especially if people are 'just nipping in for...' and if there aren't big signs or anything. Try a big-ish plant pot - fill the bottom half with polystyrene so it's not heavy to move - and see if that helps. People will happily park in the wrong place if they can tell themselves it doesn't matter, but if they have to get out and move something, so it's obvious to everybody that they know they're in the wrong, it might deter them. Worth a try before looking at more expensive options.

Norman, I presume you mean "unaware"
Thanks, I was unaware I'd put aware instead of unaware. Now you've made me aware of this if changed it to unaware. You're probably aware of this.

Now that you are aware you put aware instead of unaware, and I am aware that you are aware I have deleted my message so if you delete your reply and I delete this then no one will ever be aware that you ever wrote aware instead of unaware ....

Sit in your car by your space and sound your horn until the person parked there shifts, then tell them not to do it again. Or any variation on that. If you know who it is get pounding on that door. Or block them in. Etc.

As someone with an allocated bay with a number on it I can assure you if its not a drive, people wont give a hoot when THEY need somewhere to park (even sometimes when it is a drive!) People just see them as parking spaces. A bollard, as posted above, is your only hope of controlling it. Police wont do anything as long as they're not causing an obstruction and if you block them in its actually you that will get into trouble. Unlikely the HA will fit a bollard just for you, so you'd be better off getting some quotes and asking them if you can put one in. They are a pain though so if you an stomach the extra I'd get one with a remote. Nightmare getting out of your car all the time especially in cold/wet weather.
