Why are job adverts taken down so fast on indeed?

Possibly, but most of the CVs I received said that they were in a job, and by most I mean pretty much all.
Probably sheer desperation and hope that some of their skills are transferable, and they're praying they might get a chance to show willingness to learn other things?
Doesn't excuse it, but i know ill apply for things even if there's 1 or 2 things O don't meet, just because i'm desperate.0 -

I understand Katapolt, sometimes I do feel sorry for people because it's obvious they are just trying their best to improve their circumstances.
The problem is, if it is a job for which there is a lot of applicants, then as an employer, I can take those that have what I want. We already do significant training by van/7.5 driver standards, offer a good overall package, so I do get to be picky.0 -
I have always found Indeed poor quality jobs that dont exist or out of date and when I have hired the poorest quality of applications. Just my experience of Indeed but wouldn't use.0

In the past I've twice put a job up on indeed and taken them down within hours. With 70+ applicants as a small company, it takes too much effort to weed out everyone.
One gripe, just me whingeing here, why do people apply when they don't fill the fairly basic criteria? Half of those 70 would be rejected straightaway; 35 would be still plenty of applicants.
Just delete half the applications randomly, you don't want unlucky people.0 -
Job doesn't exist but they keep putting some up to make the number available look good.1

A lot of the jobs on Indeed appear to be the result of scrapes of other established job sites. I'm guessing they only last as long as it takes for the original site to get them taken down.0

Employer is posting whilst interviewing internally or has someone lined up but must do right thing and advertise to the world, again hence quick expire?

I run a small CIC and we used Indeed to recruit people for various projects including music production, carpentry, and a volunteer for fundraising and events...while we were recruiting, mid receiving over 28 suitable applications for the music production position, our account was closed for no reason, all of our job adverts were pulled and when I challenged Indeed via their facebook page they had no reason for it.
The account has been permanently blocked and my computer was spidered by Indeed which as far as I understand may be illegal. This means that when trying to set up another account for our sister company (a research division with its own recruitment process separate to the CIC) it was automatically treated as being the same company because we were setting up the account from the same computer.
Indeed said that it is in their terms and conditions (a copy of which is not available to view on their website) which they emailed me a pdf of, that they can withdraw job adverts at any time without giving any reason.
To date we have been unable to use Indeed at all, and without any explanation. For a charitable company to be treated this way is unfathomable. If we had the money to do so we would take legal action against them. They make themselves the mainstream company for recruitment in the UK and they have a responsibility therefore to make it available to everybody. Limiting job seekers chances, suddenly shutting down applications is defamatory on our part and damaging to applicants, particularly when we receive many from people with mental health conditions (the work of our charity) and would not understand how we can suddenly stop the process. Thankfully I was able to email each applicant individually at a great cost of time to me to explain what had happened...however the whole process was managed using Indeed's online system that allows you to categorise and make notes about each applicant which was all lost.
When I looked into Indeed they are owned by a company that has had all sorts of unscrupulous connections and after reading this thread, I suspect that they are deliberately keeping smaller organisations down probably for some vested interest.
The stress and upset this has caused is immeasurable and I have yet to find another jobsite nationally advertised that offers completely free job postings (i.e. monster, totaljobs etc.)
Indeed should be banned from trading and sued for defamation, discrimination and fraud.0 -
Amirasagher why don't you post on the praise / vent board instead of dragging an old thread back up?Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0
