Travel Insurance with medical conditions

Has anybody got any opinions, good or bad, on the best cruise travel insurance if you have pre existing medical conditions? Done a few searches and a lot of the cheapest quotes are companies I have never heard of...so a bit wary of them, but on the other hand, don't want to pay a fortune. Seems to be anything from £52 up to £183 for the 2 of us.

Why not name the ones that you have checked and someone might give you some feedback.0

good idea.....one of the cheapest is Cedar Tree who are underwritten by Axa. The most expensive is StaySure and Insure a Trip. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
The cheapest is often not the best,a good yardstick of any insurance company is not the up front price but the level of service when you make a claim.0

Exactly. That is really the sort of recommendations I am after. I asked on another group for some ideas and all they gave me was the cheapest ones. Definitely not going with a really cheap one that I have never heard of.
So far Boots seem to be looking good. But still got another couple to checkThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I've not used Cedar Tree but until recently was insured by Co-Op Bank that was also underwritten by Axa. I really can't recommend Axa enough. We have claimed for sickness whilst in Egypt when my wife almost lost a finger in a diving accident and most recently claimed for a refund on a holiday we had to cancel in December due to a knee trauma. They were excellent in both cases and absolutely no arguing with either of the claims. Latest claim was £2,000 and paid promptly once we submitted all the required paperwork and doctors certificates.
Due to the fact that my wifes knee trauma is classed as undiagnosed we're now scrabbling around for someone to insure us for December so I'll be ringing Cedar Tree0 -
Try LV for a quote - their online system is excellent.0

Columbus Direct paid out without too much fuss when we cancelled a couple of years ago.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Make sure they cover cruising not all of them do, we have ours through our bank and found it great when we had to claim.0
