Commuting to London advice

I've just taken a job in Central London and am looking for advice on the Commute, I will be coming in from Worcester, I intend to stay over Monday to Thursday, as was looking for commute advice.

I'd like to keep costs to a minimum, so was looking at the option of Driving close enough to the outskirts of London so as to be at the west end of the district line, and then park and tube the rest.

As I don't really want to lug a weeks worth of clothes on the train/tube and into the office.

Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

Martyn

Wrong forum - you have posted in the parking fine sub forum

Ask a board guide to move this thread to a more appropriate forum

To be fair it is called the Parking Tickets, Fines and Parking sub-forum, however, just send a PM to crabman, savvy or soolin and ask the thread to be moved to the Motoring forum where you will find loads of answers.

Although not the right forum, I can answer this anyway.

You can arrange long-term parking at The Mall, near Ealing Broadway station, for £100 per month - see this link: https://parkbee.com/uk/parking/parking-ealing-the-mall#

The main issue you will have, is driving into London from the west on a Monday morning. Whether you come in via the M40 or the M4, both of those grind to a slow crawl, or a complete halt, from about 7:00am onwards.

I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. I have an LLB (Hons) degree, and have a Graduate Diploma in Civil Litigation from CILEx. However, any advice given on these forums by me is NOT formal legal advice, and I accept no liability for its accuracy.
  • If you don't mind a 15 minute or so walk with your week's luggage, you can normally find unrestricted parking on some residential streets in outer London suburbs a distance from the nearest tube or shopping centre. You need to drive around a bit to scout out the best places in neighbourhoods that don't look too dodgy to leave a car all week.

And bargepole's caveat about Monday morning traffic into London stands.
